Google Tech Talk October 7, 2009 ABSTRACT Presented by Dror Baron, Visiting Scientist, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Traditional signal acquisition techniques sample band-limited analog signals above the Nyquist rate, which is related to the highest analog frequency in the signal. Compressed sensing (CS) is based on the revelation that optimization routines can reconstruct a sparse signal from a small number of linear projections of the signal. Therefore, CS-based techniques can acquire and process sparse signals at much lower rates. CS offers tremendous potential in applications such as broadband analog-to-digital conversion, where the Nyquist rate exceeds the state of the art. Information theory has numerous insights to offer CS; I will describe several investigations along these lines. First, distributed compressed sensing (DCS) provides new distributed signal acquisition algorithms that exploit both intra- and inter-signal correlation structures in multi-signal ensembles. DCS is immediately applicable in sensor networks. Next, we leverage the remarkable success of graph reduction algorithms and LDPC channel codes to design low-complexity CS reconstruction algorithms. Linear measurements play a crucial role not only in compressed sensing but in disciplines such as finance, where numerous noisy measurements are needed to estimate various statistical characteristics. I'm onsetanta sports first appeared at the beginning of December 2007 & has been a cult football comedy hit ever since. At first the show was a solo effort with The special one in the studio alone & taking calls from various other football faces & Managers (with the exception of a certain Dave from Newcastle). In due coarse Two more regulars were drafted in by Jose in the shape of Sven ("IT") & the boy Wayne (Rooney) This move bought a massive comical boost to the show & helped increase it's popularity. In autumn 08 a certain Mr Fabio Capello (cabbage man) came into the show as THE BOSS much to Jose's disgust. But he has seldom been seen since a certain election defeat to Jose. (Do not cross the special one). In early January 2009 setanta stunned the shows millions & millions of Fantastic fans by announcing that IOSS was to end the following weekend.....for no apparent reason. DAVE LENNON (Director of this channel) went Ballistic & started an online campaign to save this special show. After 10 days of this campaign it was announced through a special episode (EP00 on this channel) that the show was to return with a new name "Special 1 TV". Wireless Broadband for both a Pocket PC and a Laptop: How to compare providers in my area?

I am planning on getting both a PDA (Pocket PC) and a Laptop.

My understanding is that a big part of this choice has to do w the Wireless Broadband Provider - Sprint, Verizon, Cingular, etc.

I have been told that each provider has its own 'hardware' - towers, etc. So, signal strength varies from one carrier to another. That is a big deal.

How do I determine which providers are better and which are worse in my area ? (North Metro Atlanta - 30076).

I don't travel very often, and if I do, it's to other larger cities in the US.

99% of my connection time will be in/around Atlanta.

I have also been told that I should / have to get both of these from the same provider (the PDA service and the Wireless Broadband service for my laptop). The PDA will be my cell phone, also.

Please enlighten me.

BT Broadband/Tv vs Virgin package. What do u suggest?

I am BT option 3 package-broadband and Tel costing £54 pm nad monthly contract (now being reduced to £44) and I pay Virgin £22.50 pm for cable Tv So all in all ££76 pm
Virgin have package deal for Tel/Tv and Optics Broadband up to 10MB . All this for £27 This sounds a great deal compared to BT. I am told that as it is Optics I would not need Migration code from BT
